October 2: Philosophy Department Get Together
A message from the Chair, Larry Temkin:
Dear All,
There will be a Fall get together on Thursday, October 2, following the Department meeting (outside the Seminar Room at 106 Somerset St., 5th Floor). It will "officially" run from 6-7, though I doubt we'll be kicking people out if they want to stay longer! ALL members of the broader Rutgers Philosophy Community (and families, significant others, etc), are welcome to attend. This is NOT a command performance. I realize some people have to get back to their families, others have plans already (including me, for part of the time), etc. And there may not be enough food to really count as dinner. But there will be some pizzas and soft drinks and a lot of smart, and nice, people.
What's the occasion? Who needs an occasion? How about the fact that we are one heck of a great Department and it is fun to hang out together and chat about Philosophy and other things as well? That seems like a good enough reason to get together to me. I hope it does to some of you, as well.
I look forward to seeing whoever can make it then. And if this is a success, and there is enough interest, perhaps we can make this a monthly tradition. We'll see.
Fondly yours,
Larry
